Our Yak Fingering is made from natural, undyed Tibetan yak fibres.
We believe in keeping our yarns minimally processed, and we work closely with our suppliers in developing our in-house yarn lines to meet our specifications. Yak Fingering is a solid 6-ply, moderately twisted yarn that has been gently washed to remove spinning oils, but not over-processed to prematurely bloom or overly soften the fibres.
You may notice that the yarn has a slightly dry hand straight off the skein, while still being very pleasant to knit or crochet with. The delicate halo will gradually develop with each wash. Garments and accessories made with Yak Fingering are designed to age gracefully with minimal pilling over time.
